VISION
Joint effort to Support the Needy organization envisions an empowered caring and self supporting community that responds to the needs of most vulnerable youth, orphans, widows and children in Uganda.

MISSION STATEMENT

To improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable youth, orphans, children, widows and the elderly through increased access to health, education and economic opportunities.

GOAL
To reduce health educational and economic vulnerabilities among the youth, orphans, children, Widows and Elderly in the Rwenzori Region.

BACK GROUND OF JOIN EFFORT TO SUPPORT THE NEEDY ORGANIZATION

Joint Effort to Support to support the Needy (JESN) is Located in Fort Portal Diocese, Bukwali Catholic Parish, Katentebere village, Nyakagongo ward, East Division a few kilometers from the beautiful town of Fort Portal, Western Uganda, surrounded by various tourism attractions like national parks and lush forests, JESN had humble beginnings. It was founded by a group of Few Catholic community members of young youth, Widows and orphans in 2010.
A few Catholic Christian Community members from Bukwali catholic Parish Fort Portal Diocese, Tooro region after completing their primary, ordinary and advanced levels in their studies saw the need to fulfill their social responsibility and came together by constituting themselves into an organization known as Joint effort to support the needy to get their communities out of conflicts, ignorance and poverty, through establishing a net work of  a strong social-economic bone of the youth, vulnerable youth, people living with HIV /AIDS, orphans and vulnerable children (ovc), elderly and widows in Uganda starting with Rwenzori region and scaling up to other districts of the country.

Joint Effort to support the needy started in 2010 with the name Divine Mercy Tooro but after, many people came out with different, Hotels, Drug shops, Schools, Saloons, Pharmaceuticals, Video libraries, hospitals etc naming them the same the name that we had for our organization which forced us to change the name to be Unique and independent for our Documentation. “Joint effort to support the needy” works with existing groups, as well as assisting in the development of other self-help groups, within Fort Portal Diocese, Kabarole District.


JESN revolutionary idea is to organize the young youth, vulnerable youth, people living with HIV/AIDS, orphans and vulnerable children (ovc), Widows  through creating awareness campaigns, support of orphans and the Aged and encourage activities of self reliance.
 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION

  1. To reduce poverty levels among the youth, Widows, orphans and children in Uganda through vocation skills building and support.

  1. To reduce gender disparities among the youth, widows ,orphans and children in Uganda through education and poverty reduction Programs .
  2. To Reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and its impacts among the youth, orphans and children in Uganda through HIV prevention approaches

  1. To Protect and conserve the environment through creating environment awareness, mobilization and support.
